At Dick’s Bike Hire, we aim to please.
On your arrival, you’ll be warmly greeted by owners Dick and Liz. Dick will help you to select the best bike for your height and will make any necessary adjustments. He will show you how to safely secure children in seats/buggies. Everyone in your party will get a safety helmet and a vizzy vest (a high visibility vest) – yep, nobody’s going to miss you on the streets of Portumna!

We hope that you will return your cycles to us on time, however, if something should happen and you are running late we will retain the deposit you left when hiring the cycles. We do ask that wherever possible you try to telephone the centre on 090 97 59404 or 083 434 3480 to let the staff know you will be late. See terms and conditions for charges relating to late return.

No. For hygiene and safety reasons we do not allow dogs into the same buggies that children go in.
No. We do not offer any cycles with stabilisers. If your child cannot ride or struggles to ride then we hire out Trailers which are towed by an adult rider. If your child is older than 6/7 years old we do have tandems and trikes available as well which are more suitable for older children.

Yes. The deposit is taken to cover the cost of damage that may be sustained during the course of your hire or to help cover our staff costs if you are late returning your bikes. Deposits will be withheld and/or additional reasonable credit/ debit card charges will be incurred in the event of damage or late return.
Yes. Helmets are available free of charge to customers who hire a bike from us and we strongly recommend that everybody wears one. We have a variety of sizes available from toddler up to large adult.
No, but we would recommend it as we are very busy during the summer months.
Yes. We have a large selection of battery assisted bikes (suitable for 16 or older).
Depending on the level of damage sustained to the bicycle, we will keep part or all of the deposit you leave when hiring the cycles and additional reasonable credit/ debit card charges may be incurred.
Yes, there is on-street parking available.
Yes. Podumna Glamping Village is located on-site, with a selection of glamping pods and cabins. Ensuite rooms are also available in our main building.
No, but we are located in the middle of Portumna town. There is a variety of shops, restaurants and cafes nearby.
